Modern Times and other Indoor Sports

Blah blah blah. I wrote some stupid paean to Charlie Chaplin when I started this blog and didn't exactly know how to address properly probably no one but possibly all my friends and family and random professional acquaintances. Additionally, when I have something brilliant to say, the majority of the time it is only brilliant in my own mind. Which is why I find the idea of a blog so confounding.

All I wanted to say, minus the poetic hoo-ha, is that Charlie Chaplin often seems to be laughing at himself, and it makes what he's doing all the funnier. It's not like when someone is telling a joke or a story that really cracks them up and they laugh prematurely and kind of ruin the effect--it's more like just a sudden smirk letting you know that he knows he's ridiculous, and that's part of the fun. Anyway, watch the video. Ignore the previous Charlie Chaplin post (that should be easy because I'm pretty sure I've deleted it). And forgive the italics, which I cannot figure out how to get rid of right now. Viva la blogspotta.
